I met with Sarah and Paul earlier this year for their pre-wedding photo shoot up at Otley Chevin Park. I had enjoyed getting to know the two of them, so I was really looking forward to seeing them for the big day at The Old Barn near Baildon for their West Yorkshire Wedding Photography.
I headed to their home in Guiseley where Paul and his best man were getting ready and found the lads to be in good spirits for their photos, jesting around with each other. Everyone was looking forward to the day ahead in the beautiful summer weather. Next up I dropped by Sarah preparing just down the road at Hollins Hall in Baildon, drinking bubbles with all her bridesmaids. And those shoes, what silver spangled beauties they were!
Vows and rings were exchanged followed by a drinks reception in the gardens. We headed to a nearby field with a few horses for the main photo session. One pony in particular took an interest in our activities including attempting to chew the heel of my shoe and also my spare camera while I knelt down to take photos. Later he returned to see if he could have a nibble of the bride’s fabulous shoes – thankfully they were not on Sarah’s feet at this point. He seemed to quite enjoy attempting to get our attention, earning his place being in a few portraits as well as winning a small piece of my heart.
Back at The Old Barn it was looking fabulous having been decorated in a rustic theme, much of which the couple had created themselves. Paul had built wooden crates, which were filled with beautiful home grown flowers and used as centre pieces for the table décor. A family member had made the bunting and the guests were given small tin buckets filled with popcorn as favours. Later the ladies limbered up on the lawn for a bouquet toss and ice creams were served up by The Cowlick Creamery. As dusk fell the usual shakers and groovers got to doing their thing on the dance floor.
Sarah and Pauls day was a beautiful yet relaxed affair filled with love, laughs and a whole lot of happiness. Here’s wishing a lovely couple a lifetime of making many more happy memories together.
