The Saltmarshe Hall wedding venue, on the outskirts of Hull in East Yorkshire, is a beautiful Georgian grade II listed building filled with a sense of modern elegance and traditional charm. Set in 17 acres of parkland by the river Ouse which includes the most stunning walled garden. All of which makes for some super backdrops for an occasion such as a wedding.
Deborah & Khalid’s day was a little unusual as there were two ceremonies of significance held on the day, which included a change of outfits by the couple for each of these. The first of these was the civil ceremony, the legal binding of their marriage, during which time the registrars were unusually strict as to when photos were allowed to be taken. Deborah wore an off the shoulder three quarter length 50’s style brocade style pink dress and Khalid wore a grey suit with pink tie to match his bride. The civil ceremony was over with quickly and the couple went back to their quarters to change into a new set of outfits.
The following ceremony was a religious ceremony and for Deborah and Khalid this was the more important of the two. They had especially asked for the a couple of ministers of their church to lead the ceremony in what you would expect from a more traditional western wedding, with the exchanging of vows and rings. This ceremony took place in the gorgeous surroundings of the Orangery and, with no photography restrictions on this occasion, I was free to document these precious moments. Deborah was looking incredibly beautiful in a white lace wedding dress with veil and Khalid had opted for a darker suite and white tie.
The bridal flowers were a delicate mix of whites with the muted greens of eucalyptus foliage, while the rest of the room was filled with vibrant floral colour, with huge splashes of pinks, oranges, reds and purples. Supplied by Serendipity Floral Designs.
Following the ceremonies we ventured to the nearby walled garden for a few couples portraits as the sun fell lower in the sky and as darkness fell everyone started to getting their groove on down on the dance floor.
Deborah and Khalid love and devotion for each other shone through and it was a pleasure to capture their Saltmarshe Hall wedding day.
